Chanel Vintage
I got a vintage “chanel” bag from an old relative, is it authentic?
Is it real or fake? CC’s overlap correctly…It’s been in a closet for EVER, and the leather is still in great condition; no flaking or anything. Only thing is there is no serial number, or “made in…” logo. Only a Chanel logo. There is no clasp between the CC’s, the bag snaps closed magnetically. The stitching is well and not fraying after all these years. Any help?

There is a restricted symbol: ®, at the top right corner of the C facing right.
It appears to be authentic. Serial numbers etc. are quite modern and became important as counterfeits flooded the market. Surprisingly, at one time people would cut out labels and throw away extra tags and papers without thinking. The idea was that quality was far more important than brand name labels, and the idea that someone would copy a Chanel was unthinkable. They didn’t need to prove it was real simply because fakes didn’t exist. The hardware appears to be good solid metal, the leather looks rich, soft and warm, like how high quality leather looks after years of use, the stitching is impeccable, and everything appears very good quality. The older it is the less likely it is to be counterfeited. I think you might have the read deal.
